Customized for you
I offer my undivided attention for focused, individualized support and accountability so you can feel more organized, in control and at peace. I don’t offer pre-formatted programs with pre-determined agendas or pacing. Instead, we will create a customized program based on your unique goals, scheduling preferences and budget.
Goals
Why are you looking for a coach? What type of support would you like? What outcomes would you like to achieve? Your goals may be as big as redesigning your life with ADHD, or more focused, like figuring out how to get to work on time.
Or maybe you don’t know what your goals are. You just know that you feel disorganized, overwhelmed, frustrated and stuck. You want things to be different. That’s okay, too. I can work with you to clarify your goals. For more details about coaching topics, please visit How I Help.
Scheduling
My work hours are weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM Pacific Time. I’m flexible when it comes to how often and how regularly we meet, although new clients should be available to meet at least once a month (and ideally, more often) to build some momentum.
Coaching is a process designed to evolve over time, so it’s important that you expect to stick with it for at least three months.
Budget/Rates
Coaching is an investment in yourself. I don’t offer pro-bono or sliding scale rates for one to one coaching; however, we can meet less often and use more check-ins between appointments to reduce costs. Once we get started, your rate is guaranteed for at least 12 months after our first appointment.
- 50-minute appointment: $135
- 30-minute appointment: $85
Email and/or text accountability support is included with all coaching appointments at no extra charge, unless otherwise noted.
A few other things to know
Client age
I work with adults who have “launched” from their parents or guardians. It’s okay if you’re still living at home to save on costs, as long as you have the freedom to make your own decisions and take responsibility for your actions.
Confidentiality
All information shared during coaching is strictly confidential, and will only be shared with the written permission of the client, even if a parent, guardian or other third-party is paying.
Coaching paid by your employer
I accept third-party payment from employers who wish to provide coaching to their employees, under the following conditions:
- The employee wants coaching
- Except for documentation of the time spent in coaching, I will maintain confidentiality of all employee information and not share any details of our coaching to the employer or anyone else, without the written permission of the employee.
Common questions or concerns
How do we meet?
We meet via your choice of phone or videoconference. I use Zoom, and I’m open to other videoconference options, if there is another you prefer.
How long are the appointments?
We can determine together which appointment length is best for your goals, budget and scheduling preferences.
- 50-minute: Usually best for beginners and those who prefer more time for exploration
- 30-minute: May offer greater focus and economy
- 1 hour or more: Usually best when you want to get some actual work done during the appointment, or for complex strategic planning
How often will we meet?
We can schedule appointments at whichever interval makes sense for you, based on your availability, goals and budget. Here are the most common options:
- Regular: Reserve a standing appointment at weekly or bi-weekly intervals
- Variable: Schedule as we go, with varying intervals between appointments
- Open-ended: Contact me when you’re ready for your next appointment
You don’t have to commit to any of these. We can play it by ear, as we go.
Is there accountability support?
Accountability support via text and email is included between appointments, at no additional charge. I also provide a brief written summary (either via email or shared coaching notes) after each appointment.
How long will we work together?
It depends on your goals. Here are some very loose estimates:
- 6–24+ months: Broad goals such as a major life overhaul with ADHD
- 3–12 months: More focused goals such as improved work performance
- 1-3 months: Project specific goals such as decluttering your garage
Generally, the broader your goals, the more time you should expect to be working together. You will probably add new goals or adjust your current ones, as you discover more about yourself and see new possibilities.
Coaching is designed for ongoing collaborative work and I ask all prospective clients to be prepared to stick with it for at least three months. If you have short-term goals that we’re able to meet sooner, that’s great! I won’t hold you to the three months, but I do want you to understand that coaching is not about quick fixes.
Can we make adjustments if necessary?
Yes! This is a dynamic process. We can adjust your coaching plan as necessary to fit your changing needs.
Will you give me homework?
For real transformation and progress toward goals, appointments alone are not enough. You will need to try new things. Ideally, you will create your own homework during each appointment. It can be specific, measurable actions, or simply experimenting with new perspectives and paying attention to things differently. I will help you develop your ideas into a realistic plan and I can also offer some ideas of my own, if you don’t know how to get started.
Although you should expect to invest some extra time or energy to work toward your goals, it’s not unusual for shifts in knowledge and mindset to lead to natural changes in behavior. When this happens, the “work” may feel natural and easy to do.
Do you have a sliding scale or do pro bono work?
No. Occasionally, I offer deeply discounted coaching if you allow me to record our sessions and use them for educational and credentialing purposes. Please inquire about this if you are interested.
Do you take insurance?
No, I’m not aware of any health insurance that covers coaching. Some clients have been able to use FSA or HSA funds.
What's the first step?
Schedule a complimentary phone consultation. Please allow about an hour, with as few distractions as possible. I will answer all your questions and tell you everything I think it’s important for you to know, so you can decide whether you’d like to work together. I promise there will be no pressure.
