“How come I don’t …”

How many times have you berated yourself with one of these questions? The questions are good, but the berating, not so much. Let’s try a new perspective: compassionate curiosity.

It may help if you add a thoughtful, “Hmmm,” before you ask the question. Give yourself the benefit of the doubt. You care. You want to do this. Let’s not waste time doubting your motives or ability. Instead, let’s step back and get compassionately curious.

Chances are, you’re a much better detective than you know. Do some sleuthing and see what you find!
